1. Monastery NS set up a Book Rental Scheme (BRS) in September 2014. This was great news for parents and saved them a considerable amount of money. The School BRS bought 4 to 6 new textbooks per pupil per class, access to online resources and €4000 worth of parallel readers. They also invested in a book covering machine and book cataloguing software. Our BRS covers your child’s use of our new virtual learning environments MNS Seesaw and Google Classroom. Pupils also have access to their online interactive Irish Scheme Bua na Cainte and last year we purchased a new English Reading Scheme for every class at a cost of €7,500. 

In order to make the school book rental scheme successful we ask that you note the following;

•  All parents are requested to participate in the scheme which is exceptional value at €16 rental fee per annum. The BRS is voluntary but we strongly recommend you join.
• The rental fee will remain the same whether you avail of one or all of the BRS textbooks.
• Parents will also be required to pay a single once off refundable deposit of €10 per child.
• Parents and pupils are asked to maintain books in excellent condition while on loan for the year. We estimate that books will last about 4-6 years.  However, should a book be lost or badly damaged parents will be obliged to pay the full replacement cost.
