Music Generation - Lets Sing

15th Oct 2019

Music Generation Louth presents LET'S SING, an exciting and fun new singing programme for primary schools that aims to make children confident at musical reading and performance. early February, Music Generation Louth's LET'S SING tutor Jennifer McMahon works with Monastery NS's 6th Class and provides a weekly workshop with the aim of building a musical programme of exciting songs from around the world.

At the end of this 16-week project, our boys will have the opportunity to perform in their school and also to come together for a mass choral performance with other participating schools in the area. As well as providing a hugely enriching experience for the children involved, LET'S SING also promises to be of great benefit to class teachers who will gain valuable experience, resources and new skills working alongside one of Music Generation Louth's expert choral tutors.

Music Generation Louth is a new service for the county that aims to help children and young people up to eighteen years access vocal and instrumental tuition in their local area. It is led by Co Louth VEC and is part of Music Generation, a new national programme for music education initiated by Music Network with seed funding from U2 and the Ireland Funds. Co Louth VEC and Create Louth have provided local partnership income.
