Exploring weight

We have been busy exploring weight using balance scales in Senior Infants. The children investigated different classroom items and learned how to compare them by placing them on the scales to see which was heavier or lighter. They made thoughtful estimates before measuring and had great fun checking if their predictions were correct. This hands-on activity helped to develop their understanding of weight while encouraging mathematical language and teamwork. We were so impressed with their curiosity and enthusiasm!
